Michael and Robbie in perfect harmony.
Brought
together, it seems, by the prospect of losing Jackie once and for all
to
Brian, they have reached an understanding. From Robbie waiting
for
Michael outside the Registry Office, to the comisserating squeeze of
his
shoulder after the ceremony. It's a strange episode in itself,
full
of ironic humour and haunting tango music that makes this one of the
best.

There's one amazing moment in this. When
Jackie
tells them "we're engaged", and for a moment, Robbie looks at Michael
with
a, "what?! you never told me!" expression on his face. A
wonderful
episode, with great moments of personal feeling between Michael and
Robbie,
and Robbie and Stuart.

Personal conflict as Robbie is suspended,
suspected of taking bribes. Michael's obviously pitting personal
feelings
against professional ones, as he tells Jackie - "you're too emotionally
involved.
We all are."

For
Their Sins

For once Robbie is doing the chasing.
Digging up something in Mike's past seems to make Rob desperate either
to get close to him or to understand him. He practically begs
Michael to talk to him and when that doesn't work he assures his boss
that his team are behind him in a very emotional scene between the two
of them. Gorgeous episode.

Ghost Rider

This has a really great ending and it's a very
good episode. Robbie being as stupid as ever by gambling not only
with his money but his career and predictably Michael goes bonkers when
he finds out. But in the end he can't stay mad for long.

This one was always going to be heartbreaking,
but the emotion behind it is devastating. Lots of tears, Robbie
comforting Stuart out at the mudflats, Jackie and Robbie sitting
holding hands on the bench... very moving.
