JACK

He’s beautiful.

I’d forgotten.  I made myself forget.

He didn’t.  The way he’s looking at me, with everything in his eyes, I know he hasn’t let himself forget.

I want to engulf him in a hug, kiss him senseless and tell him I still need him, as much as I did that night, our first and last night together.

But I don’t.  I can wait.  Later, I’ll take him home and make long, slow love to him.  I can see in his eyes that he wants me to, still, after all this time.

“Daniel….”

“Hi, Jack.”

DANIEL

He comes around and opens the door of the jeep for me.  A real gentleman, my Colonel O’Neill.

He’s changed.  Happier, more settled.  He looks like he’s come to terms with Charlie’s death.  Maybe.  Maybe not.  But at least he hasn’t ended his life like he was trying to do when we first met.

We spent one night together on Abydos.  One night of desperate desire and an attraction that we couldn’t deny.

I want him as much now as I did then.  To come back to him, it seems… natural.

I drop down out of the jeep and he slides his palm against mine, tangling his fingers with my own.

I love him.  There’s nothing simpler or clearer to me in the whole world.

Unlocking the door to his house, somewhere I’ve never been, I know I’m home.
