My greatest strength is being adaptable to any situation I might find myself in, whether I like it or not
My greatest weakness is being unable to watch friends and people I love being taken as Goa’uld hosts

I am a peace-loving man who understands the need for fighting when a good-enough cause is at stake. I don’t hold grudges, even against my best friend and CO who told me our friendship had no foundation when he was pretending to have gone dark-side on us, or my Grandfather Nick who abandoned me when I was eight years old, or my team-mate who shot and killed my wife to save me

Skill Set

Speak, read and write 23 different languages, including some experience translating the language of the Ancients

Very good personal interaction skills, especially with aliens. Ability to communicate with all levels of military personnel, from snotty know-it-all cadets to over-protective colonels. Excellent record in making friends with peaceful aliens

Negotiation skills including experience in a Jaffa Cor-ai and a Tollan Triad (won both cases in the face of excellent argument in the case of the Cor-ai, and really dodgy argument in the case of Triad

Can handle a P-90 or sidearm with the same skill and care as a several-thousand year-old artefact

Excellent at Internet searches to locate a single Goa’uld on a planet of 6 billion possible hosts

Reason for leaving

Was being alienated from the team by TPTB, no longer felt that my many skills were being put to any good use at all, despite all my achievements (see below)

Duties included

Working under the questionable command of an ex-black-ops colonel

Visiting and exploring alien planets ( P7J-989, PJ2-445, Orban, Tollana, etc.)

Saving the Earth (saved the planet in 1998 from Apophis, System Lord, whose ships were in orbit around Earth and ready to fire at the time, having used information I struggled to gather in an alternative universe to give us advanced warning of the attack)

Saving alien species (see achievements)

Sacrificing myself for the good of Earth and/or my fellow team-mates

Being zatted in the line of duty in order to allow my team-mate to rid the universe of a Goa’uld

Remembering a whole catalogue of Stargate addresses and the locations of other SG teams in order to give us an escape route in case we are unable to return immediately to Earth

Translations of alien languages and symbols on artefacts and ruins found on other planets

Assisting other SGC teams on other planets

Acting as ambassador to the Unas, a primitive, pre-Goa’uld race

Negotiating with foreign and alien governments in matters of sharing technology

Laughed out of academia for theories concerning the pyramids that have now turned out to be absolutely correct

Achievements

Once kidnapped by an Unas and managed to make friends thus preventing myself from becoming the family evening meal

Discovered the ‘Meaning of Life’ stuff that they keep over at Area 51. Would have done more if Colonel ‘Must Return to Earth Before the Castle Falls into the Ocean’ O’Neill hadn’t talked me out of it

Saved the life of a follow team member by arguing against a hall full of people intent on getting their revenge on crimes said team-member had committed by following the orders of his System Lord boss

Saved the lives of many alien species including Naked Alien guys on <<planet>>, <<aliens in Scorched Earth>>, entire population of Kalona, the Tollans (from a colonel later thrown out of the military for conduct-unbecoming)

Saved the lives of my fellow team mates on many occasions, including figuring out that the gate had malfunctioned and sent my CO and Major to the Arctic,

My robot-double also sacrificed himself to save his team-mates

Saved this universe’s Earth by talking a stubborn colonel around to sacrificing himself and his Earth to the Goa’uld in an alternative universe so that I could return to tell our military about the attack in our universe in advance of it happening

Not killing a sick alien who made me watch my parents die over and over again for his peoples’ entertainment

Working out that far from losing my marbles when I started to see dead Goa’ulds, I was being influenced by anti-Goa’uld technology and that the same technology was the cause of a fellow team-mates near-fatal condition at the time

Retrieved the communication device and enough information about the bad guys to save the lives of me, my team, and a couple of Tok’ra on the hellish, nightmare prison planet of Netu

Saved the Earth from certain destruction by a comet by figuring out how to use enemy technology to our own advantage

Did I mention saving the Earth a couple of times?

Hobbies

Winding up System Lords and other Goa’ulds by taunting them about passed failures, times we kicked their asses, dead relations, preferably killed by us

Translating alien languages in order to save the butts of my fellow team members (inc. Thor’s stuff on Cimmeria, the stone bash-the-muppets time-looping device on P4X-639

Analysing the dream given to me by the Harsisis child in order to teach me about myself

Driving my ex-CO insane by messing his hair up just before he heads out to restaurant

Keeping tropical fish
