Season One Slashiness

Badgers Drift
1/10

Written In Blood

Death of a Hollow Man

Faithful Unto Death
8/10
There's something oddly  camp about this episode....

I was reading the book when I saw this - I kept thinking to myself, 'he's dead!  die!'
A lovely, funny ep  :-)  The first signs of affection between Tom and Gavin.  Tom's accidental 'high' provides some gorgeous moments, we get the famous 'Troy in bed' shot with Tom offering him breakfast and the final scenes are them in perfect partnership.  The scene where Tom tells Troy that he's going to re-interview one of the witnesses alone is fantastic - Tom goes to great lengths not to offend  :-)
And the scene in the lounge at the start - Tom suggesting they'll forget Gray's threat at a price and Gray looking from one to the other as if... what are they suggesting?  A threesome?

Quotes:

"You know what young men are like."
Troy: "From personal experience."
Death In Disguise

Season Two Slashiness

Death's Shadow
6.5/10
Second viewing of this episode revealed some lovely smiles and some gorgeous moments.  From breakfast together at the start, this moves happily along with the two of them spending a fair amount of time grinning at one another and generally being close.  Not the slashiest ep, but a lovely one nonetheless
Stranglers Wood
6/10
Still not sure about this one, I need to watch it again.  You have to question Tom's careless blame of Troy for the original killer's death - what's that kind of thing going to do to a young sergeant?  Nothing, it seems, but he needs to be careful about accusing your own sidekick of murder!
And what was it that Troy wrote in his 'Dear Kate' letter we wonder...?
Dead Man's Eleven
6/10
I think Morse did this one.....
Tom's pride at the cricket match is wonderful and they work well and smoothly together, but it's just not slashy!
Made up for by....
Blood Will Out
11/10
...*the* slash episode.  Diets and gypsies, any slash fandom would be delighted to have this episode.   There's real off-duty affection here and Troy looks just wonderful in jeans.  From his cutting up Tom's apple to "make it look like chips" to the Mars Bar in the glove compartment, this is quite an incredible episode.  I think Gavin's at his sexiest here, although Carmen melted over him during 'Tale of Two Halmets' so I guess it depends on your preferred style of hair  ;-)

Quotes:
Troy: "Told you we needed backup, Sir."
Tom: "We have, Troy.  We've got each other."
Season Three Slashiness

Death of a Stranger

Blue Herrings
6/10
It's an odd episode this one.  One of my faves and the one ITV seem to show all the time.  Lovely slashy bits with the cactus as a housewarming presie and Tom showing Gavin around the new house.  Some nice paint carrying moments too.
Judgement Day
2/10
Can't see it myself.  This episode is famous for Orlie Bloom, although he's only in it for 15 mins before he's pitchforked!
Beyond the Grave
9/10
HAHA!  The 'Troy watching Tom in the wing mirror' episode that started it all off for Eggbert and Carmen in 2003.  A nice hand holding moment, albeit Tom trying to burn a hole in Troy's skin to make a point.  Lovely episode, some wonderful scenes between the two of them
Season Four Slashiness

Garden of Death

Destroying Angel
8/10
High scoring for one moment - Tom whistles Troy to his side!  How completely gorgeous is that?!
And Gavin should definitely be allowed out of uniform more often - black T, black leather jacket!  ::thud::
Electric Vendetta
5/10
Close encounters.  Ummm.
Nice moment in the car when Troy comes head to head with the 'alien spacecraft' but that's about it.  And what did they do with his hair???
Who Killed Cock Robin?

Dark Autumn
7/10
This has a wonderful warm feeling about it, which is odd because it's all but.
A seven for three particular scenes: Tom watching Troy dancing with Jay, the whole pub games night with Troy congratulating Tom after his win, and Tom protecting Troy at the end from finding out about Jay.  A gorgeous episode.
Tainted Fruit

Season Five Slashiness

Market For Murder
6/10
On Gavin: "He's good, isn't he?"
Tom: "Yes, he is."
A Worm In The Bud

Ring Out Your Dead
6.5/10
Troy feels comfortable enough to wind Tom up about the bell ringing - this is a lovely episode although I can't put my finger on what makes it feel so slashy, unless it's something to do with Troy's wonderful nervous innocence around the lady of the manor....
Murder on St Malleys Day

Need to watch this again, because I think Troy was in it for all of 15 minutes in total....
Season Six Slashiness

A Talent For Life
8/10
Superb - excellent ending with Tom rushing off to throw his arm around Troy's shoulders and try to reassure him.  Troy's starting to fly now, the last thing Tom wants to do is to clip his wings
Death and Dreams
8.5/10
PJ Hammond does some wonderfully weird episodes
This starts badly - one of them got out of bed on the wrong side - but it's lovely.  Troy's skill with the spoons is fantastic, his kiss with Cully is obviously straight (but she reminds him of her Dad), but his jealousy over Tom working with Jane is marvellous and his care when Tom is injured is touching.
Painted In Blood
9/10
Dalziel and Pascoe did this episode - 'Recalled To Life' - and Dalziel's reaction was the exact opposite of Tom's!
Troy's assigned to help the NIS while Tom's taken off the case.  At first it's a great opportunity but Troy slowly realises he's being used.  Again, Tom lets him fly and fall, lets him make his own mistakes.  The scene when Troy goes around to Tom's house to apologise is lovely - akin to the slashy equivalent D&P scene in the hospital.  All the scenes after that are them working beautifully together.  The end of the episode is hilarious.  Fantastic stuff.
A Tale of Two Hamlets
6/10
Troy flying on his own, or almost.  Following up his own leads and being backed up and supported by Tom all the way.  A great ep with an almost touch of hands  ;-)
Birds of Prey
2/10

Season Seven Slashiness

The Green Man
8/10
The first time I watched this I thought, 'that's a lovely way for him to leave, at least they didn't kill him'.  When I saw it for the second time I cried.  Despite them working separate (?) cases, Tom's there for Troy throughout.  Troy rushes to Tom's side when he hears about the tunnel collapse and the ending is just beautiful.  Shame about the aborted hugs, but this is a lovely episode and Daniel Casey looks completely gorgeous.
Must mention the Inspector Morse homage!  There's a scene where they drive up side by side of one another.  In Morse, he and Lewis talk and drive off.  In this, Troy cracks Tom's wing mirror with his own   :-)
Bad Tidings
5/10
This is the episode that started it all for me.  When I first watched it I would have sworn to an expression of sympathy on Cully's face when she's sitting on the stairs and asks who Scott is, to be told by Barnaby that he's "Troy's replacement".  I had my first story complete and posted before the end of the episode.  But watching it back, I'm not sure I didn't imagine it.  My only regret is that I didn't imagine it while Troy was still in the series!
The final scene too, the toast to "absent friends", where the camera moves in on Tom, is very touching - can we hope these little moments will last?
The Fisher King
n/a
No.
Why is it that when a character leaves a TV show, he's never mentioned again.  Troy was a huge part of Tom's life - as well as Joyce's and Cully's - why is he never mentioned?  Not a phone call, an email?  He's vanished off the face of the planet.  It really wouldn't kill them....
Sins of Commission
n/a
Bah.  He's driving me nuts too now.
Odd how once you start slashing a couple any replacement becomes unbearable.
Makes me wonder if I'd have gotten so caught up in the SDJ campaign if I wasn't an SG1 slasher....
Maid In Splendor
n/a
The only thing I can say is that the tension between Tom and Scott makes you think that maybe Tom's missing Troy.
The Straw Woman
n/a
Tom's definitely missing Troy, and for a moment in this one I thought he was going to get a mention.  But the phrase 'you were a romantic when Gavin was around' didn't materialise.  Scott's off sleeping with the suspects again (he *really* annoys me) leaving Tom speaking to an answerphone (something he wasn't used to doing with Troy answering his calls all hours of the night and day).  Why hasn't he mentioned missing Troy??  Would have fitted perfectly - the man has not vanished off the face of the planet he's only gone 400 miles north!
